Mini Rugby 2023 Summary (U5, U7, U9, U11)
We had a total of 160 athletes and over 20 volunteer coaches participating in our mini rugby program during our 2023 season. The Edmonton Rugby Union (ERU) changed the structure of the Mini and Junior Rugby seasons this year. They ran an 8 week spring season during May and June and then a 7 week fall season during September and October. Our athletes were extremely excited to have the opportunity to participate in an additional 7 weeks of rugby this year.
SARFC would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our volunteers that stepped up throughout the season. Some of these roles were coaching, on field parent helpers, Friday Night Hot Dog cooks, Merchandise Sales Assistance and Field Marshals during festivals.
Play On Rugby 2023 Summary (U5 to U18)
SARFC has been providing the opportunity for children with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the game of rugby structured to their abilities for 3 seasons now. We had a wonderful group of 14 athletes participate in our program this year. These players enjoy being a part of the rugby community and have developed lasting friendships with their teammates and coaches.
A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteer coaches that are enthusiastic, empathetic, inclusive and dedicated week in and week out to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our athletes and parents to enjoy the game of rugby.
