How do we register a team?
Check out www.yegsevens.com for all the details. Early bird discount of 25% if you register before August 1st!
Why did the event move to St. Albert?
With some uncertainty about the availability of Ellerslie Rugby Park for September 3rd to 5th, EIS LTD was unable to organize the event there. SARFC offers the physical space for the event and camping options for both tents and trailers with the neighbouring Kinsmen Club. Since there are no residential neighbours, we can also have a bigger party with live outdoor music. There are also more parking options.
What happened to Rugbyfest?
Don’t worry! Rugbyfest is still alive and an integral part of the weekend. It will live on as the festival-side of the event. Rugbyfest is a party and it’s going to continue to be just that—THE party.
How will this impact St. Albert Rugby members?
This is a huge opportunity to showcase our facility and the club will benefit from this partnership with EIS LTD. There will be some volunteer efforts (e.g., bottle drive), but the event is being staffed by the organizers. Our grounds crew will ensure the fields are ready for rugby and clubhouse operations will continue with our staff, however there will be additional vendors on site. Festival social events are ticketed: more information at www.yegsevens.com
What does it cost to watch the rugby games?
Supporters, families and spectators can come down and watch the tournament games for free. Friday, Saturday and Sunday each have one ticketed social event (18+). SARFC members, tournament participants and the public can only attend these social events with a ticket. More information at www.yegsevens.com
Where do we park?
Access to the SARFC parking lot will be somewhat restricted and free overflow parking in Riel is available (gravel lot off Rodeo Drive). Please ensure you follow signage and respect the reserved parking spaces for neighbouring businesses and facilities.
What are the clubhouse hours?
Friday, September 3rd – 3PM to 1AM
Saturday, September 4th – 8AM to 11PM
Sunday, September 5th – 8AM to 5PM
Hours may be adjusted as the tournament schedule is finalized.
Can we bring pets?
No pets 🙁
We love them, but it’s not feasible with an event this size on our grounds.
What are the COVID-19 protocols?
Any provincial restrictions and Alberta Health Services guidelines will be adhered to. See www.yegsevens.com/covidresponse for more detail.
